4 VPNs with Armenia server – Get Armenian IP anywhere

It is difficult to find a reliable VPN service with Armenian servers. With a population of less than 3 million people, inferior fiber and data center infrastructure, and undeveloped copyright policies, VPN providers are hesitant to offer their services in Armenia.

However, things are changing, and Armenia has been making bold moves in terms of online entertainment, sports streaming, and increased internet infrastructure since 2022. Some fantastic examples include Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, and 1tv.am.

With the examples above, the demand for Armenian IP addresses is gradually increasing. As a result, I did not want to leave you in the dark about the 4 VPN services that have servers in Armenia. You can easily access any local Armenian platform, no matter where you are, by using one of the suggested services.

1. SurfShark Location: Yerevan – Armenia; Reliable no-log policy; Compatible with Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, 1tv.am; Download speed of 117.63 Mbps with unlimited simultaneous connections; Starts from $2.29/month.

2. ExpressVPN Location: Yerevan – Armenia; Proven no-log policy; Compatible with Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, 1tv.am; Download speed of 10.45 Mbps with 5 simultaneous connections; Starts from $6.67/month.

3. PrivateInternetAccess: Location: Yerevan – Armenia; No activity logs; Compatible with Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, 1tv.am; Download speed of 13.56 Mbps with 10 simultaneous connections; Starts from $2.03/month.

4. CyberGhost Location: Yerevan – Armenia; Private servers with “No-Spy” servers; Compatible with Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, 1tv.am; Download speed of 113.20 Mbps with 7 simultaneous connections; Starts from $2.03/month. (Doesn’t work in Russia)

With any of these VPN services, you can easily get an Armenian IP address. However, if you’re curious about how I chose these VPN services and the differences between them, or if you’re looking for the VPN service that will best meet your needs, the rest of this article will cover these topics in depth.

How did I pick VPNs with the Armenia server?

The VPN service we use must have certain features in order to maintain a stable connection with the Armenian IP. Some of these features are required to get an Armenian IP address, while others are useful for a better VPN experience.

Considering the VPN features I required in my previous travels as well as the usage areas of the Armenian IP, I developed a set of criteria and organized them under five main headings.

  • Servers in Armenian data centers: If we want to get an Armenian IP address, the VPN service we use must have a dedicated or virtual server in one of Armenia’s data centers. Unfortunately, not many VPN services meet this fundamental requirement.
  • Streaming and speed: One of the most significant advantages that an Armenian IP will provide is access to platforms where major sporting events will be streamed for free. As a result, I paid close attention to whether the VPN services I tested could unblock platforms such as Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, and 1tv.am. Furthermore, the VPN service should provide us with an uninterrupted streaming experience and seamless surfing.
  • Privacy policy: It is critical to understand who has access to our personal information and web traffic. If we want to ensure that our personal information and online history are not leaked, we must use VPN services with a strict no-log policy. We will thoroughly investigate the privacy policies of each VPN service on our list.
  • Compatibility: You might want to watch your favorite team’s games on your smartphone, computer, or even television. That’s why I wanted to make certain that the VPN services I chose would not cause compatibility issues. Below, you will find a detailed table of compatible devices for each service.
  • Price/performance ratio: We don’t need to pay more for features we don’t need when there are cheaper alternatives. That is why I concentrated my efforts on finding VPN services that offer the best performance at the lowest possible cost.

4 VPNs with Armenian Server/IP

Normally, I select five services from every country to get a local IP address. However, based on my market research, only four VPN services were able to satisfy me in terms of getting an Armenian IP address.

You can easily get an Armenian IP address by using one of these services. Let us examine each one individually and select the VPN service that best meets our requirements.

1. Surfshark

Surfshark is an all-in-one VPN service that meets all of our requirements. It is not only privacy-friendly, but it also offers worldwide coverage, with over 3200 servers in 100 countries. Surfshark has dedicated servers in Yerevan, Armenia, and by connecting to Surfshark’s Armenia servers, you can easily get an Armenian IP address.

You can easily get yourself an Armenian IP address with Surfshark. Simply search for Armenia and select an available server from the app's interface.

Surfshark provided me with a download speed of 117.63 Mbps in my most recent speed test. Such performance is exceptional for Armenia, where finding a reliable VPN service is difficult. It is more than adequate for uninterrupted streaming and daily internet activities. While on the subject, Surfshark will allow you to unblock platforms such as Vivaro TV, VBet.am, Amediateka, and 1tv.am.

In terms of privacy, Surfshark is based in the British Virgin Islands and is not subject to any data retention legislation. Furthermore, the company adopts a strict no-log policy and supports it with RAMDisk-only servers.

If you like Surfshark’s speed and privacy policies, let’s take a look at its compatibility.

  • PC: Linux, Windows, MacOS
  • Mobile devices: iOS, Android
  • Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge
  • TVs: FireTV, Android TV,
  • Consoles: Playstation, Xbox
  • Others: Router

Finally, we can say that Surfshark has a reasonable price policy. Surfshark allows for unlimited simultaneous connections and has a 30-day money-back guarantee. Most importantly, the lowest bundle starts at $2.29 per month.

PROS
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Unlimited simultaneous connections
  • Fastest option on our list
  • Dedicated streaming servers for local networks
CONS
  • Renewals after two years are expensive
  • Ad-blocker may not block ads from time to time

2. ExpressVPN

Speed10.45 Mbps
StreamingVivaro TV: ✓ VBet.am: ✓ Amediateka: ✓ 1tv.am: ✓
Price6.67$/month
Official websitewww.expressvpn.com

ExpressVPN is one of the most well-known VPN service providers. It is a dependable option with over thirteen years of experience and worldwide server coverage. The company currently has servers in 94 countries, including Armenia.

ExpressVPN is another VPN service with Armenia servers.

I’ve said so many positive things about ExpressVPN, but I must admit that the company’s performance in Armenia is a little lacking. My most recent speed test with ExpressVPN’s Armenia servers yielded a download speed of 10.45 Mbps. This performance is adequate for daily internet use, but if you want to watch sporting events, I recommend Surfshark or CyberGhost. Because you’ll need at least 20 Mbps of download speed to watch any platform in 4K quality.

ExpressVPN is one of the best options for those who value their privacy. As a British Virgin Islands-based company, it has no data retention restrictions and is also a certified no-log VPN provider. Furthermore, the RAM disk server technology that ExpressVPN prefers makes data storage impossible.

The following devices are supported by ExpressVPN:

  • PC: Linux, Windows, MacOS
  • Mobile devices: iOS, Android
  • Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Vivaldi
  • TVs: Android TV, Amazon Fire, ROKU, Chromecast, Apple TV, Nvidia Shield
  • Consoles: Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch
  • Others: Routers, FireStick, Kindle Fire

Finally, let us discuss ExpressVPN’s pricing policy. ExpressVPN’s biggest disadvantage, in my opinion, is that it is the most expensive VPN service on our list. ExpressVPN allows you to use the service on up to five different devices with a single account, and the cheapest plan costs $6.67 per month.

PROS
  • Reliable brand
  • Userfriendly software
  • Strict no-log policy
CONS
  • The most expensive VPN on our list
  • Only 8 simultaneous connections
  • Slow for streaming

3. Private Internet Access

FeaturesPIA

Speed13.56 Mbps
StreamingVivaro TV: ✓ VBet.am: ✓ Amediateka: ✓ 1tv.am: ✓
Price2.03$/month
Official websitewww.privateinternetaccess.com

Private Internet Access (PIA) is ExpressVPN’s sister company. PIA places a high value on server expansion, and its coverage now extends to 84 countries. Armenia is part of the PIA service area.

You can get an Armenian IP address by connecting to PIA's Armenia server.

In terms of performance, while PIA isn’t the slowest VPN service on our list, the 13.56 Mbps download speed I received from the company’s Yerevan servers was disappointing for me. If you want a VPN for your daily internet activities, PIA, like ExpressVPN, is an option. However, when it comes to streaming, this performance is insufficient for 4K streaming. Still, if you’re willing to stream in 720p, I’d say PIA is compatible with platforms such as VivaroTV, Amediateka, and 1tv.am.

When it comes to privacy, PIA is generally a dependable option. It has a strict no-log policy and, like ExpressVPN, uses RAM disk servers. However, because PIA is headquartered in the United States, it is subject to US law. PIA must provide authorities with any available information if requested.

You can use PIA on the following devices:

PC: Windows, MacOS, Linux, Chromebook
Mobile devices: iOS, Android, Kindle Fire
Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge
TVs: Android TV, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Roku, Chrome cast
Consoles: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch
Others: Routers, Nvidia

In March 2023, PIA began offering its users unlimited simultaneous connections. If you are satisfied with the features of PIA, you can begin using it for $2.03 per month.

PROS
  • Strict no-log policy
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
CONS
  • US-based
  • Poor performance

4. CyberGhost

FeaturesCyberGhost
LocationYerevan, Armenia

Speed113.20 Mbps
StreamingVivaro TV: ✓ VBet.am: ✓ Amediateka: ✓ 1tv.am: ✓
Price2.03$/month

CyberGhost often tops the VPN market in terms of server coverage and the number of available servers. Currently, the company provides over 9300 servers in 91 different countries. Furthermore, 26 of these servers are located in Yerevan, Armenia.

CyberGhost is the 4th option I recommend for getting an Armenian IP address.

The advanced server infrastructure of CyberGhost also demonstrates its power in terms of performance. I received a download speed of 113.20 Mbps from the service’s Yerevan server. Such performance will suffice for any internet activity. You can use CyberGhost to access Armenian platforms such as VivaroTV, Amediateka, and 1tv.am. However, I should point out that CyberGhost’s “For Streaming” category does not include dedicated servers for these platforms. Also, CyberGhost does not work in Russia.

Aside from server and speed performance, CyberGhost considers itself to be one of the most secure VPN service providers on the market. CyberGhost is based in Romania, where user privacy is legally protected. According to the company, no internet traffic data is logged while using the service. It should be noted, however, that they only keep the bare minimum of customer data in order to successfully run their service.

Last but not least, CyberGhost has a large application library:

  • PC: Windows, MacOS
  • Mobile devices: iOS, Android, Blackphone
  • Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox
  • TVs: Android TV, Amazon Fire, Apple TV.
  • Consoles: Playstation 3/4, Xbox One & Xbox 360
  • Others: Routers

If you like the features of CyberGhost, a single account allows you to connect seven devices simultaneously, and the cheapest plan starts at $2.03 per month. Furthermore, CyberGhost offers a 45-day money-back guarantee.

PROS
  • Outstanding speed performance
  • Inexpensive service
  • Capable of unblocking Vivaro TV, Amediateka, and many other streaming platforms
  • Wide range of payment options
CONS
  • Only 7 simultaneous connections
  • Ad-blocker is not working
  • Limited protocol options
  • Doesn’t work in Russia

How to get an Armenian IP address

We compared four VPN services with Armenian servers. If streaming platforms are your top priority, I recommend Surfshark or CyberGhost. All of the options in the list appear to be useful for daily internet activities. I’ll show you how to get an Armenian IP address using one of the services on our list in the following guide. I’ll use Surfshark as an example, which is at the top of our list.

  1. Visit the official website of Surfshark. It has servers in Yerevan, Armenia.
  2. To select a plan, click the “Get SurfShark” button in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and select a payment method to complete the transaction. (Surfshark will email you your login information.)
  4. Login Surfshark portal and download the VPN application for your device.
  5. Log in to the Surfshark app with the same credentials.
  6. Go to the “Locations” menu, type “Armenia” into the search bar, and connect to a server that is available.
You can easily get yourself an Armenian IP address with Surfshark. Simply search for Armenia and select an available server from the app's interface.

A green dot will appear over your Surfshark icon after a successful connection. That means you now have an Armenian IP address.

When you connect to Surfshark's Armenian servers, your local IP address will be automatically changed to an Armenian IP address.

As shown in the image above, this connection changes your virtual location to Armenia, and you can now access the internet as if you were a local. Let’s take a look at the benefits of having an Armenian IP address.

Benefits of having an Armenian IP

You must have a specific need if you are looking for a suitable VPN service to get an Armenian IP address. But first, let’s see what we can do with an Armenian IP address. Perhaps it provides an advantage that you are unaware of.

  • Streaming sporting events for cheaper

Until recently, VivaroTV provided free streaming of major sporting events around the world. Unfortunately, the platform now requires a subscription. However, the membership fee is significantly lower when compared to similar platforms in Europe. In short, you can access platforms like Vivaro and Amediateka by getting an Armenian IP address. More information on VivaroTV can be found here.

  • Online banking

Local banks in most countries only provide Internet banking services to users with a local IP address. The same is true for Armenia, where you can access Armenian banks using an Armenian IP address.

  • Online gaming

Outside of Armenia, access to gaming websites operating in the country may be restricted. You can gain access to these sites by using a VPN service with Armenian servers.

  • Uncensored internet

If your country imposes internet censorship, using a VPN service to connect to an Armenian IP address can provide you with the freedom you seek. In recent years, some Armenian officials have proposed legislation modeled after Russian online censorship. However, this effort appears to have been abandoned, and Armenia remains a viable option for free internet for the time being.

Summing up the article

In terms of streaming platforms, Armenia has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. With the emergence of new platforms such as VivaroTV, it is now possible to watch multiple sporting events on a single platform for a much lower cost. However, due to the low demand, finding a reliable VPN service with Armenian servers is difficult.

I was able to identify four VPN services with Armenian servers as a result of my thorough research. Surfshark has been the VPN service that has most satisfied me in every way. It was closely followed by ExpressVPN, PIA, and CyberGhost. You can get an Armenian IP address with any of these services.

However, because not every VPN service provides the same features, I’ve shared the positive and negative aspects of the four services I’ve selected. I recommend that you read the entire article before deciding on the VPN service that best meets your needs.
